Merle Australian Shepherd portraits

Blue and red merle Aussies have marbled patches over a grey or red base, often with white collars and copper points. Their eyes may be blue, brown, amber or split.

What we keep

Patch shapes on the face are the identity. We keep the mask asymmetry, white blaze width and any split or marbled eyes.

I

Approved by you

You approve every portrait before it's made. Two revisions, should they be needed.

II

Every marking

Spots, stripes, masks, odd eyes, extra toes. Their face, not a face.

III

Framed to give

Archival prints, real frames and a linen box. Ready to hang, or to hand over.

IV

It moves

A code on the frame back opens a moving portrait and a private page.

Photo tips

A straight-on face photo matters more than a full-body shot.

Natural daylight, eye-level, and the whole head in frame. Avoid heavy filters; they change coat colour.

Special features we'll keep

Add any of these in the Special Features box and we'll keep them, and you'll confirm each one on your proof:

  • a white blaze or uneven mask
  • one blue and one brown eye
  • a missing leg (tripod) or ear
  • a grey muzzle
  • a scar or notch

Questions

Will my merle australian shepherd look like my pet, not a generic one?

Patch shapes on the face are the identity. We keep the mask asymmetry, white blaze width and any split or marbled eyes. And you approve every portrait before it's made.

What photos work best?

A straight-on face photo matters more than a full-body shot. 1 to 3 photos is plenty.

Can I include two pets or myself?

Yes. See our family and owner portraits; just upload a photo of each.

What if something is off?

Ask for a revision; two are included. Nothing is made until you approve.
