Dapple Dachshund portraits
Dapple is a merle pattern in dachshunds: darker spots scattered over a lighter base, often with tan points on the brows, muzzle and legs. No two are alike, which is exactly why generic portraits get them wrong.
What we keep
We map where the spots sit on the ears, back and flanks, keep the tan brow points, and preserve eye colour, including blue or part-blue eyes common in dapples.

Approved by you
You approve every portrait before it's made. Two revisions, should they be needed.
Every marking
Spots, stripes, masks, odd eyes, extra toes. Their face, not a face.
Framed to give
Archival prints, real frames and a linen box. Ready to hang, or to hand over.
It moves
A code on the frame back opens a moving portrait and a private page.
Photo tips
Send one clear photo of the side and one of the face in daylight.
Natural daylight, eye-level, and the whole head in frame. Avoid heavy filters; they change coat colour.
Special features we'll keep
Add any of these in the Special Features box and we'll keep them, and you'll confirm each one on your proof:
- a white blaze or uneven mask
- one blue and one brown eye
- a missing leg (tripod) or ear
- a grey muzzle
- a scar or notch

Questions
Will my dapple dachshund look like my pet, not a generic one?
We map where the spots sit on the ears, back and flanks, keep the tan brow points, and preserve eye colour, including blue or part-blue eyes common in dapples. And you approve every portrait before it's made.
What photos work best?
Send one clear photo of the side and one of the face in daylight. 1 to 3 photos is plenty.
Can I include two pets or myself?
Yes. See our family and owner portraits; just upload a photo of each.
What if something is off?
Ask for a revision; two are included. Nothing is made until you approve.
